The triceps are located between the elbow and the armpit. As a muscle group, they are among the most neglected and in women especially, this is an area that when neglected ripples like a flag when the arm is lifted. The flabby arm phenomenon is not a sign of poor health or fitness, but it is the sign of an underused muscle group. In women, particularly, this is not a muscle group we use in our daily activity. The following two exercises really target your triceps and help you build a firm, toned look. Read the rest of this entry »

One of the greatest things about this job is discovering all the new things that are out there for fitness and exercise. Whether it’s a new tape, a new workout style or even just a new gym that they are building, it’s part of my job to research them. The following is one of those ideas. I don’t have Comcast digital cable, but I wish I did, because I want to check this out: Read the rest of this entry »

I am sharing this with you because I honestly believe that workouts should be as individual as the person doing the workout. Read the rest of this entry »

Too many women think strength training is not what women do. Seriously. The image of strength training brings to mind body builders built like Arnold Schwarzenegger. Even the most fit of women do not want to look over-muscled. However, strength training is very vital to any woman’s fitness regimen and program. Read the rest of this entry »

At one time, a common fitness saying was ‘no pain, no gain.’ This is incredibly inaccurate. Frankly, pain is the body’s warning sign that something is wrong and that there is imminent danger to that area of the body. So if you’re performing an exercise and there’s a lot of pain: STOP.
